verja, f. hvad man bruger til at lægge over eller kaste om noget for saaledes atbedække det; fal skurðguðin undir ulf-alda verjum (dvs. de Klæder som lagdesunder Kamelsadelen, = lat. stramentacameli) Stj. 18120 (1 Mos. 31, 34); lögðuniðr baggana (hvori de havde skjult grösin) - var annat verja, en annathít mikil Svarfd. 224; hann hafði yfirsér verju saumaða saman af mörgumtötrum Fbr. 926 jvf 21 fgg.
