gandreið, f. Riden paa gand eller i Skik-kelse deraf (se gandr). Fm. III, 17613.Ved gandreið Fld. II, 13119 synes ment Troldkvinders Fart til trollaþings; HjaltiSkeggjason sagde, at det var gand-reið, som Hildiglúmr fik se, da han saa í vestrættina, og der syntes se hring okeldslit á ok í hringinum mann á grámhesti -, fór hann hart, hann hafðiloganda eldbrand í hendi, hann reiðsvá nær honum, at hann mátti gjörlasjá hann, hann var svartr sem bik,hann kvað vísu þessa með mikilliraust: -; þá þótti honum hann skjótabrandinum austr til fjallanna fyrir siko. s. v.
