hafstrambr, m. et Slags vidunderlig Skab- ning som har sit Tilhold i Havet (Hav-mand), hvis Overdel er som et Menneskemed Hjelm paa Hovedet, hvorimod Neder-delen smalner af som en Istap, udenat dog nogen har seet hvorledes den en-der, og hvis Tilsynekomst bebuder Stormog Mandedød, alt ifølge Beskrivelsen. Kgs. 38 fg; den nævnes Chron. Norv. 314; SE. I, 5809. Et Tilfælde, da Folk skullehave seet den, omtales Flat. III, 5488.
