lýðskærr, adj. saadan som tilfalder, til- hører hele Almuen paa det Sted, hvor denfindes eller driver til Lands, hvorimod ikkeenkelt Mand, saasom Finderen, kan tilegnesig den eller er berettiget til at opskjære (skera) den, = meiri en einfyndr (Gul.1501; Landsl. 7, 641. 26 jvf 46); þeir allirhvalir, er lýðskærir eru, þá skal boðaármanni ok búandum at koma til atfimt -; ef hval rekr í stöð mannslýðskæran, þá á sá þann lut allan, erí stöðinni liggr, er stöðina á, en kon-ungr ok bœndr þann lut, er um gengrstöðina út Frost. 14, 104. 13.
