móðurætt, f. Slægt paa mødrene Side(jvf móðurkyn, móðurleggr). Eg. 183229); Grág. 646. 6720 (Grg. I, 22319);lauzt þú mér nú, segir S., en þó skaltuí móður ætt falla áðr vér skiljum Nj.45 (7019), af hvilken Sætning Ordene "ímóður ætt" Nj. II, 1368 er oversat vedde latinske Ord: in gremium matris (adavos maternos), uden at den rette For-staaelse af disse dunkle Ord derved erbleven lettet.
