nýráðligr, adj. uventet, overraskende, for- underlig; ero öngvir lutir nýráðligirfyr þeim (= lat. nec aliqua sunt apudeum nova), sem vón er at, er skapþahefir þá hluti þegar, er enn ero ókomnirfram ok koma muno Leif. 1330; þykkiraf því guði (eigi) nýráðligt þats framkomr á tíðonom, þótt menn undriskþat, er sjaldan komr fram ok þykkilítil vón, at verði Leif. 1022; margarmeyjar mæltu við konuna (nl. den somvar kommen under Navn af Heppa far-anda vif eller förukona), ok hendu sérgaman at, ok þótti nýráðligt, er þessikona var komin Didr. 2263.
