ofraðr, m. 1) Aabenbarelse, Kundgjørelse (jvf ofra sér, ofrast); hverr er svásvikall ok útrúr, at vára leynda ráða-gjörð hefir borit á ofroð (dvs. hefir látitofrast) ok birt Ísraelitis Stj. 61916. 2) Selvophøielse, Overmod, = ofran; i ofr-aðarsynd. 3) tjener i Genitiv sammensatmed et følgende Ord til en Forstærkelseaf dettes betydning eller til at betegnenoget som fremragende, f. Ex. ofraðar-maðr, ofraðarrangt, ofraðarvel, ofraðar-þrekmaðr.
