Lidelsestegn, Billede af ens (e-s) Lidelse; tvau vóru þau líkneski, atfrá teknu píslarmarki dróttins várs, athann (nl. penturinn) hafði lagit í vanasínn at vanda sem mest með öllumhagleik, þat var líkneskja sællar guðsmóður Marie ok annat þvers í mótsjalfs óvinarins Mar. 5567; om Korset:Homil. 376 fgg; bauð hann (nl. Jón bi-skup) mönnum at - ok ganga svásíðan vápnaðr allan daginn með markihins helga kross, en taka aldri svámat, drykk eðr svefn, at maðr hlífðisér eigi áðr með guðs píslarmarki Bp.I, 2379; hann sagði, at almáttigr guð- sendi þeim mark reiði sínnar, erdirfðust at hafa með höndum hanspíslarmark, er eigi trúðu á skaparasínn Fm.
