(tt) 1) bedrage, besnære; heyrirþú, - hversu hann vildi pretta mik okslœgja með sínum fagrgala Barl. 9529;at því síðr megi prettast fákunnigirmenn Landsl. 8, 293; ekki skal ekpretta yðr í þessu kaupi Fm. VI, 1106;leyfa mun ek, ef þér prettit hann íöngu Nj. 58 (903). 2) forfalske; bréfeigi rasurat né prettat DN. III, 4626.
