selbelgr, m. uopskaaret Sælhundskind; sveinninn Þórir lá í stafni ok var íselbelg ok dreginn at halsinum Landn.2, 5 (767); hón tók þá upp selbelgitvá ok steypti yfir höfuð þeim (nl. desovende Finner) ok batt at van(d)ligafyrir neðan Flat. I, 4326; Geirríðr varpaf sér skikkjunni ok gékk at Kötlu(jvf S. 186 fg) ok tók selbelg, er hónhafði haft með sér, ok fœrðu hann áhöfuð Kötlu, síðan bundu förunautarþeirra at fyrir neðan Eb. 20 (3330).
