skafl, m. (jvf gafl) 1) høi, brat Fond især af Sne; þeir fundu hann í skafli einum,ok mælti Skaði, at þann skafl skyldikalla Breiðafönn héðan af Fld. I, 1167;þeir - ætla honum at ríða á millikirkjugarðs ok fannar þeirrar, er þarhafði lagt, sem leiðin lá í túnit; standanú sumir á kirkjugarðinum, en sumir áskaflinum Sturl. I, 29421. 2) høi, brat Sø eller Bølge; jvf sjófarskafl. 3) beygja skaflinn forekommer tilligemed gera skelpur om de Trækninger, Bevæ-gelser i Ansigtet, som den grædende gjør.Flat. I, 5663 (Fm. X, 17418).
