skinnari, m. Person som giver sig af med at berede Skind; hann var skinnari okfœddi sik ok móður sína af starfi okerfiði sínna handa Mar. 8638; er = lat.coriarius Heilag. II, 6026; Post. 16815(Ap. Gj. 9, 43). 16824: tölum vér þettaei til yð(a)r útan ánefnt til brœðra yðra(dvs. yðarra) -, er útgefa sútara nöfnok skinnara, non probationibus sedprobris litigantes DN. VII, 16616; Alfrskinnari DN. III, 2072. De Rb. 2, 10nævnte skinnarar gjøre marðskinn, hvítskinn, gráskinn, kiðskinn, lambaskinn,hreinkalfaskinn og Skindkjortler tillige-med Foerværk af disse og flere Slags Skind; i Byl. 3, 8 nævnes skinnarar og sútarar ved Siden af hinanden som ind-byrdes forskjellige Haandværkere, medens den samme Person, som Mork. 9322; Fm.VI, 36114 kaldes skinnari, derimod Flat.III, 41716 kaldes sútari.
