skírsl, f. 1) Daab, = skírn; um guðsifjarok skírsl at nauðsyn Borg. 1, 2 &vl15, jvf Eids. 2, 7. 2) Handling, Mid- del, som tjener til at bevise ens Uskyl-dighed eller Sandfærdighed i et givet Til-fælde, hvad enten det bestaar i Menneskerseller Guds Vidnesbyrd, = skírsla; skalhann bjóða fyrir sik, hvárt er hannvil, guðs skírslir eða manna; hann skalei eiga hverft til manna skírsla, efhann býðr fyrri guðs skírsl o. s. v.Eids. 1, 42; vígja guðs skírslir Eids.1, 431 jvf 4; Haraldr vann ok eið, áðrhann næði skírslum, at hann skyldiekki til ríkis kalla, meðan Magnúslifði Fm. X, 41826. 30 (Ágr. 918).
