Skjørbug (ital. og sp. escor-buto, fr. scorbut; jvf nht. scharbockse Frisch II, 220); tekr Þorsteinn skyr-bjúg í hafi, er þeir svá kalla, ok varðhann eigi liðfœrr Þ.hvít. 3827; í þessiferð þoldi Árni biskup mikla neyð (dvs.nauð) í vístafangi, ok fékk mikinn skyr-bjúg í munninn, svá at hann hafði jaxlafærri heim en heiman Bp. I, 78126;þrútnuðu upp á honum fœtrnir, enskyrbjúgr hljóp í búkinn Bp. I, 82029.
