skyrsiligr eller skyssiligr, adj. rædsom, vidunderlig; meðr margskonar skyrsi-ligum skurðgoða blótum Stj. 269; sumar(þjóðir) af þeim vorðnar mjök skyrsi-ligar ok hræðiligar fœðast viðr mannalíkami ok drekka þeirra blóð, sem An-kropagi (dvs. Antropophagi) heita Stj.7837; í útanverðri heimsins austrhalfusegist, at margar sé skyssiligar þjóð-anna ásjónur Stj. 7913; þjóðir hræði-ligar ok ógurligar af skyssiligr myndok ásjónu Stj. 9626; eigi bendi sá hinnskyrsiligi ok hinn hræðiligi hlátr nökkutgótt fyrir Stj. 10124.
