smáleitr, adj. uanselig, ubetydelig af Ud- seende; þær presentur, er þeir berameð sér af konungsins halfu, eru eigismáleitar Thom. 36328; nú at hváru,at vér sém lítt verðugir til frásagnarsvá mikilla hluta, ok eigi sýnist mak-ligt svá smáleita, auðgætliga ok lítladiktara verða gervara svá ágætra kenn-inga ok boða svá háleitar dygðir meðlágum málshætti Heilag. II, 33513; fílarero ok búnir til bardaga, hvar semþeir fást, ok hafa byrðar ekki smá-leitar Alex. 529; því nær brestr framór bjarginu greip eigi smáleit Bp. II,11131.
