Solhverv, = lat. solstitium;ofte i Plur. om det enkelte Solhverv; núlíðr fram at sólhvörfum Grett. 1628;þá vex mesto á þeim tveim vikomsólargangr, því at þat er miðmundasólhvarfanna Rimb. 64a (3024); á þeimdegi, er 10 nætr ero til jónsmesso, þáero sólhvörf, er sól er í miðju land-suðri, en um vetrinn eptir at miðrinátt 10 dögum firir jólanótt Hb. 405;AnO. 1847 S. 2023. 5; Frump.
