sorti, m. = myrkvi; ek þóttumst hérvera á Jaðri ok sjá út í haf sortamikinn, ok var för í sortanum Fm.VII, 1631 fg; dregr skugga eða sorta áe-t Flat. II, 13510; má eigi sólna sjá,þótt of miðdegi sé, ef tunglit berrjamt fyrir, ok er þá kallat sorti átungli Rímb. 67a11 (3724); þat verðr ennstundum, at sorta berr á tunglit, þáer skínn í heiði Rímb. 67a14 (382).
