þryngva, v. (þryng, þröng, þrunginn) 1) trænge, trykke, presse, m. Dat.; verðusem þistill, sá er var þrunginn í önnofanverða Skírn. 31; dynr var í garði,dröslum of þrungit Ghe. 32. 2) be- trænge, underkaste Trængsler eller Gjen- vordigheder; hví þegit ér svá, þrungingoð! Lok. 7; rœddu ok rýndu, rekkjugörðu þræll ok þýr þrungin dœgr Ríg. 11. 3) fylde en Ting med noget (somtrykkes derind); hár er þítt, Helgi! héluþrungit Hund. 2, 42 fg; þá tók Eddaökvinn leif - þrunginn sáðum Ríg. 4;þrunginn af metnaði Stj. 50519. 4) intr. trænge sig frem, = þröngvast; oker liðit þröng í milli skipanna ok vildidrepa Þormóð, þá brast niðr undirþeim íssinn Flat.
