tog, n. = taug, taumr (jvf reip, snœri,vaðr); hafi sá varp, er fyrri rendi tog-um sínum Landsl. 7, 516; hann lagðitaug eina langa ok ramliga við kalfinnok leiddi hann heim, en atrennulykkjavar á taugarendanum, ok smeygði hannlykkjunni á hals sér, en hélt höndunumum togit Fm. VI, 36818; sá hann einnaf sínum sveinum fylgjanda riddaraeinom ok leiddi vápnhest í togi Str. 1039.
