traf, n. kun i Plur. tröf dvs. Fryndser:hón hafði knýtt um sik blæju ok váruí mörk blá ok tröf fyrir enda Laxd.55 (1636); tók hann til trafanna, er áklæðom þeim váro, er tjaldat var ofkistuna Bp. I, 34726; mæl þú við lýð-inn, at þeir gjöri tröf með dreglum umskikkjur sínar, at þeir minnist mínnaboðorða, þá er þeir hafa tröfin á klæð-unum Stj. 32818 (Vulg. fimbria 4 Mos.15, 38).
