undanbragð, n. at noget kommer eller brin-ges til Side, af Veien, saa at det ikke erfor Haanden, kan sees eller findes, Mid-del dertil; síðan leitaði hann sér undan-bragðs, at hann væri eigi þegar fyriraugum þeim er skálann bygði Vatsd. 3 (521); skal nú rannsaka pung mínn,hefi ek hér ekki undanbragð mátt hafaþó at ek vilda Frs. 9718; þótti þeim þarfangs ván at frekum ulfi er hann var,ef nökkut undanbragð yrði (dvs. om hanpaa nogen Maade skulde slippe fra det)Sturl.
