vandhœfi, n. hvad man finder at udsætte paa noget, at det ikke er som det skuldevære; vandhœfi mun þér þykkja á veraat láta geyma hesta várra, því at þeireru allir graðir, ok má engi við annaneiga Ljósv. 73; nú veit ek, at yðr munoþykkja vandœfi mörg ok mikil finn-ask á lífi óro í máli mínu Homil. 4425 fg;sýnist þeim nökkut vandhœfi á vera,at þeir sé samskipa við þeirra skap-lyndi Flat.
