vápnaburðr, m. 1) Vaabenførsel, at man bærer Vaaben, gaar bevæbnet; Gizurrbiskup friðaði svá vel landit, at þáurðu engar stórdeilur með höfðingjum,en vápnaburðr lagðist mjök niðr Bp.I, 2916; þá var svá lítill vápnaburðr,at ein var stálhúfa þá á alþingi Bp. I,3115; Heilag. I, 60922; Flat. III, 51430.51511. II, 959 (Fbr. 827). 2) Brug, Benyttelse af de Vaaben hvormed maner udrustet; kómu þeir ekki höggumvið; var þó svá mikill vápnaburðrinn,at þar er 3 vóru í halfrými á Ólafs-súðinni, þá stóð einn uppi, en engi ísumum stöðum Fm.
