yfirseta, f. 1) at man sidder inde med no- get (jvf sitja yfir); yfirsetan á land-skyldinni DN. VI, 320. 2) at mangiver sig af med noget, Gjerning, Syssel;at eigi taka ek fyrir þetta verk pínusakir ofdirfðar heldr aflausn andmarkafyrir yfirsetu ok eptirlæti með yðr Post.85013; ekki ætlaða ek, at þat væri mínyfirseta at dœma milli þeirra Fm.
