yfirsjón, f. 1) Udseende; at yfirsjón mannadvs. saavidt Menneskene kunne se ellerskjønne, Mar. 6726; taldi hann til ríkisí fyrsta sinn ok kvað líkt tilfarit ríkinuyfirsjónar (dvs. af Udseende) ok aldri sín-um Flat. II, 7014. 2) Tilsyn med, Op-sigt over noget; ger þik aldrigi drukk-inn, þvíat iðuliga má svá at berask, atþú sér þá kallaðr til mála manna oktil yfirsjónar Kgs. 815; hafa yfirsjón ájörðinni DN. VIII, 238.
