yfirtaka, v. (-tók) fuldbringe, fuldføre. Rb.25 (NL. III, 761); hugði hann at erendiBrúsa skyldu eigi lyktut eðr yfirtekin,þá er hann kvæmi á konungs fund Fm.IV, 22420; upers. lykkes, komme til etgodt Resultat: Hrœrekr hafði fyr þvítekit á öxl konungi, at hann vildi vita,hvárt hann væri í brynju, ok vildi eigitil ráða, nema hann ætlaði, at yfirtœkiFm. IV, 1746; kveðst nú vænta, at númundi yfirtaka, ef auðna vildi til fallameð þeim Fm. XI, 2672; skal nú ekkiafdraga allra bragða í at leita, at yfir-taki Fld.
