ýki, n. 1) Overdrivelse, hvad der er over- ordentligt, usandsynligt; hverr er þettakallar lygiliga sagt eða telr slíkt meðýkjom, þá lesi fyrr en fœli librum Ma-chabeorum Alex. 221; Sturlaugi vannstat með ýkjum (dvs. s. gjorde sig over-ordentlige Anstrængelser, det gik over-maade haardt ind paa ham), ok varðhonum saxit laust Fld. III, 33211; ýkifjár = of fjár Fld. III, 33926. 2) Be- skyldning som indeholder noget urimeligteller umuligt; þat er ýki, ef maðr segirþat frá öðrum manni eða frá eigu hansnökkorri, er eigi má vera, ok gjörirþat til háðungar honum Grág. 3924jvf Gul. 138.
