Pl. ylir) Varme; atmiðjum degi sýnir sunnanvindr sikefldan vera með yljar auðœfum Kgs. 1032; nú veiztu þat, at sól er mund-anga heit á Hálogalandi, ok er þó lítlahríð þat á sumrinu, er hón hefir ýrinnyl Kgs. 1724; hlið verðr á ísum fyrirhrœring gjalfrsins, en eigi fyrir yljasakir Kgs. 4418; at reykrinn (er stundumsýnisk fylgja norðrljósi) kœmi heldraf yl en kulda Kgs. 4817; ylr var íhinu vinstra herðarblaði hans, ok fyrirþví vildu þeir ekki grafa hans líkamat þeir kendu hér vermann Pr. 45029;kuldi nálgaðist hörund hans svá, at afklæða yl mátti hann eigi heitr verðaeða varmr Stj. 54812; Kgs. 16522.
